This frozen apple cider is a simple and delicious way to enjoy cider on a warm fall day. This one ingredient frozen apple cider “recipe” is more of a process than an actual recipe and there’s no equipment needed!

Ingredients

Scale
  • One gallon OR one half gallon of Apple Cider*

Instructions

  1. Pour your apple cider into a freezer safe food storage container, preferably one that is large and shallow.
  2. If using the apple cider jug for freezing, pour out about a cup of cider before freezing to make room for expansion.
  3. Place your container in the freezer.
  4. Check on your apple cider every hour and give it a good shake or stir.
  5. After about 4-6 hours, your cider should be the perfect consistency for serving. Be sure not to forget about it, and to consistently stir the cider, so you don’t end up with a giant popsicle!
  6. Spoon into your glass and enjoy!
  7. Optionally, spike with your favorite bourbon or my toasted pecan infused bourbon.

Notes

*I prefer to use an un-spiced cider for this recipe. The only ingredient in your apple cider should be apples. My favorite is Honeycrisp Apple Cider!

This should be used the same day it is made. If using the next day, allow to sit on the counter 20-30 mins to thaw and give it a good stir.
