This Toasted Pecan Infused Bourbon is the perfect infused bourbon recipe for fall and winter. Toasted pecans and bourbon blend to create a rich, nutty flavor perfect for fall cocktails and desserts.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup raw pecan halves
  • 1 750 ml bottle of bourbon*
  • 1 cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  1. Toast the Pecans: preheat your oven to 350°F. Spread the pecan halves evenly on a baking sheet and toast for 7-10 minutes, shaking the pan every few minutes to make sure they don’t burn. You’ll know they’re ready when they’re fragrant and a slightly darker brown.
  2. Allow the pecans to cool completely.
  3. Add the pecans and cinnamon stick(s) to a mason jar or airtight glass container.
  4. Infuse the Bourbon: Pour the bourbon over the pecans and cinnamon stick(s), so that they’re completely covered. Seal the jar tightly, and give it a good shake.
  5. Store in a dark area like the pantry for 7-10 days. You can shake or stir it every couple of days to help infuse the flavor.
  6. Give it a taste! If you can taste the nuttiness from the toasted pecans, your infused bourbon is ready.
  7. Strain the Bourbon: Strain the bourbon well to remove all the pecan pieces and cinnamon stick(s).
  8. Pour the infused bourbon into a clean bottle or jar.
  9. Enjoy!
  10. Try it neat, in an old fashioned or with my Frozen Apple Cider.
  11. Storage: Store in a cool, dark place or even the fridge. Infused spirits are best when used within a couple months!

Notes

*I recommend Buffalo Trace or Maker’s Mark– use a good “middle of the shelf” option.
