Apple Cider is an Autumn staple, and this Frozen Apple Cider is perfect for those warmer fall days. This technically isn’t a recipe, it’s more of a process. If you don’t have one of those fancy Ninja Slushi Machines, then this is the blog post for you!
Although those look super cool, I’m not sure I can justify the $300 price point. If you do have one, just pour your apple cider in and enjoy! Or spike it with my toasted pecan infused bourbon.
For my frozen apple cider, there’s no equipment needed!
I prefer to use un-spiced apple cider for this, so be sure to look for a cider that only has apples listed under ingredients. I love using Honeycrisp apple cider, but feel free to use your favorite!
All you need to make frozen apple cider is apple cider (of course) and a large food storage container that is freezer safe.
Don’t have one? You can actually do this right in the jug! Just be sure to pour out about a cup of cider, to make room for freezing. I don’t want you to end up with a frozen apple cider explosion in your freezer! If you are doing it in the jug, it will take a little longer.
Don’t forget about your cider! Be sure to give it a stir every hour, so it doesn’t turn into a giant frozen popsicle!
If using your apple cider jug for freezing, be sure to pour out about a cup of apple cider to make room for expansion during freezing. Every hour give it a really good shake! If doing it this way, it may take longer.
Make it the same day. This process works best to make it day of and serve as soon as it’s ready.
This frozen apple cider is a simple and delicious way to enjoy cider on a warm fall day. This one ingredient frozen apple cider “recipe” is more of a process than an actual recipe and there’s no equipment needed!
*I prefer to use an un-spiced cider for this recipe. The only ingredient in your apple cider should be apples. My favorite is Honeycrisp Apple Cider!
This should be used the same day it is made. If using the next day, allow to sit on the counter 20-30 mins to thaw and give it a good stir.
We love to make this on Halloween night and spike it with bourbon. I’ve also spiked it with my toasted pecan infused bourbon which is also delicious!
It also makes for a great Frozen Apple Cider Kentucky Mule.
If you tried this and enjoyed it, let me know in the comments below! Do you think it’s worth it to buy a slushy machine, or stick to this freeze and stir method?
