The podcast is making a comeback today after quite a long hiatus– and I promise, this time I really will be releasing episodes on a weekly basis. This week on Good Food, Better Drinks, I’m sharing our Halloween Traditions. Mainly, the traditions surrounding the food and drink we have every year.

Listen to Episode 5 of Good Food, Better Drinks

Listen above, or find the episode wherever you stream podcasts including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and more!

Recipes from Today’s Episode

I start every episode with what I’m sipping on, and today it was my Frozen Apple Cider. As mentioned in the episode, this is more of a process of freezing apple cider to the perfect slushy consistency with no fancy equipment needed!

I also mentioned how you can spike it with Bourbon or my Toasted Pecan Infused Bourbon. Here are the drink recipes we make every year as Halloween Traditions.

How to Make Frozen Apple Cider with No Equipment Needed! This frozen apple cider is a simple and delicious way to enjoy cider on a warm fall day. This one ingredient frozen apple cider "recipe" is more of a process than an actual recipe and there's no equipment needed! Get the details and more fall recipes and fall ideas on kirstenturk.com

This Toasted Pecan Infused Bourbon is the perfect infused bourbon recipe for fall and winter. Toasted pecans and bourbon blend to create a rich, nutty flavor perfect for fall cocktails and desserts.

I make my vegetarian dump chili every Halloween, and I’ve shared that recipe on my Tiktok!

I also mentioned how I serve it with cinnamon rolls. I’m working on developing a pumpkin or apple crisp cinnamon roll recipe, so if all goes well– I’ll share that here!

Typically I use the Pillsbury grands, but Logan thinks the concept of cinnamon rolls with chili is too bizarre, so he at least want upgraded or homemade ones. Okay, okay, I think I can make that happen ;).

I talked about my upgraded cinnamon rolls I make after Thanksgiving and on Christmas morning, linked below!

These upgraded Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls are so festive and delicious, perfect for the holiday season. They’re a great way to use up leftover cranberry sauce, too!

Those are the recipes mentioned in today’s episode!

Halloween Traditions

I love our Halloween Traditions and I can’t wait for them to expand as we grow our family! Here are the traditions we do so far:

  • Frozen Apple Cider, sometimes spiked with Bourbon
  • Vegetarian Dump Chili
  • Cinnamon Rolls
  • Making an epic Halloween Candy Basket with Glow Sticks!
  • Sitting on the front porch in our rocking chairs to pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters
  • Ending the night with a scary movie!

At the end of the episode, I asked you to share your favorite Halloween traditions in the comments below! Also, what is your favorite scary Halloween movie?

Thanks for listening! Next weeks episode is “How to Always Be Host Ready,” be sure to tune in!

Happy Halloween!
