I love to eat seasonally, and Spring might just be my favorite time of year for it! Things are starting to come back to life after winter and lots of fresh and local produce is growing in abundance.
Strawberries, lettuce galore, leeks and more! Spring recipes are full of fresh ingredients and bright flavors. A lighter fare than what we’ve maybe been indulging in over winter is here, and it feels good.
While what’s truly in season month-to-month for Spring can slightly vary by state, this is what is in season for Spring in the United States:
If you’re in South Florida like me, Strawberry season gets an early jump on Spring (which I love!), but other states catch up by April. Also, if you’re in Florida, we’re lucky enough to have Fresh From Florida at the local grocery stores. Any produce with this label was grown right here in Florida which means you know it’s fresh and in season!
You can check out Seasonal Food Guide to find out more information on what produce is growing and in season in your own state!
