For the past few years, my blog at kirstenturk.com has been centered around good food, better drinks and easy ways to entertain. As a girl who loves hosting, cooking for others as a love language, and enjoying a cocktail or cozy iced latte from time to time, stepping into motherhood has me excited to explore both cooking and homemaking in new ways. Sourdough anyone?
I’ve been really enjoying slowing down, savoring the simple things, and creating cozy corners throughout my home that make feeding, resting, and playing with my daughter easier and more joyful. From arranging a little reading nook, to prepping easy meals, to keeping our home welcoming for friends and family, I’m discovering how motherhood and homemaking really go hand in hand with hosting and gathering around good food and drinks.
Motherhood is evolving the way I think about home, hosting, and the small rhythms of everyday life (for the better!). It feels only natural to start sharing those aspects here and on the blog. I’ll still be sharing recipes and entertaining ideas, while also incorporating homemaking as a new mom to help you make a home that feels warm, lived-in, and welcoming to the people who matter most; a place where hosting feels effortless, family life is celebrated, and the little moments are just as meaningful as the big ones.

What to Expect Going Forward
I’m so excited to take you along on this new chapter of my life—and I hope this space continues to inspire you, whether you’re a fellow parent, a homebody, or someone who simply loves food, drinks, and keeping your door open for company.
Thank you for joining me—here’s to cozy homes, messy kitchens, happy babies, and open doors!
