I’m going to be totally honest here; I truly believe I make the best avocado toast. I order it time after time at brunch, and although usually good because I am an avocado toast lover, I always leave thinking, “I should’ve just made my recipe at home.”
So hopefully you try this, agree, and this is the last avocado toast recipe you’ll ever need. Thats’ the goal. Think something could improve it? Comment below, and I’ll test it out!

In my opinion, there are 3 key elements that make a really good avocado toast. You obviously need a perfectly ripe avocado… but what else?
Slicing the avocado and putting in on a piece of toast isn’t enough for me. Maybe this is because I don’t enjoy avocado by itself. Where’s the seasoning? Where’s the flavor? I like to pre-mash my avocado in a bowl with salt, pepper and lemon juice before adding it to my toast. Don’t skip this step!
Think about the best avocado toast you’ve ever had… did it have an egg on it? Because my favorites always, always include an egg. Now the style of egg, that’s totally up to you. Sometimes I like an over medium egg. Other times, a soft boiled egg does the trick.
But one thing is certain: I know I’m going to enjoy my avocado toast more if it has an egg on it.
The bread is your vessel, and it can make or break your avocado toast. I like to use a freshly baked sourdough or multigrain from a local bakery. I like to thickly slice my bread and toast it. It should be crunchy on the outside but still pillowy soft on the inside when you bite into it. If you’re local to Jupiter, my favorite bakery for sourdough is Bread by Johnny’s!

Everything I’ve mentioned so far will come together to make the best avocado toast recipe, but it’s fun to switch it up every now and then! Keep the recipe below as your base recipe, and then play around with toppings.
Here are some of my favorites to add every now and then:
Put it all together, and you’ll have the best avocado toast ever! At least to me it is 🙂 Enjoy!
