I got an early taste of Fall this year. In August, I took a quick trip to Upstate New York and Maine. While those that live there would say it wasn’t quite fall, as a South Florida girl, it definitely felt like fall to me in all the best ways possible.
Crisp, cool morning air. Bonfires. Local coffee shops serving up pumpkin spice lattes. Apples turning bright red on the trees. And to my surprise, there were even some leaves on the verge of changing from summer green to their vibrant hues of yellow, orange and red. Autumn is starting to show up in the most beautiful ways. It made me want to return home and immediately decorate for fall.
I also took a trip to Austin for a 30th birthday girls weekend over labor day. My husband flew in after the weekend, and me and him drove up to Waco to visit Magnolia and the Silos. Everything was set up for fall, and it left me feeling inspired and ready for the new season ahead. Joanna Gaines truly has a magical operation there, and the attention to detail is something anyone should aspire to.
This fall on the blog, I want to take full advantage of all that fall has to offer. The cozy feelings, the warm nostalgia and the delicious fall food and drinks. Since we really don’t get much for fall in Florida, a trip back to my home state of Missouri will also be in order.
Fall gives us plenty of opportunities to connect. Kids are back in school making new friends. Football season lends a hand to weekly gatherings. And the coziness that comes with fall can make hosting almost feel simpler. This past week, I hosted a simple fall brunch with some girlfriends. Nothing too crazy: a few food recipes, apple cider mimosas, pumpkin spice lattes and an easy fall craft. Considered having friends or loved ones over for an easy fall get-together. Eat pumpkin flavored goodies, light fall scented candles and kick fall off on the right foot.
I’ll be sharing plenty of fall recipes, iced fall-inspired lattes and baking recipes perfect for cozying up on the couch watching Gilmore Girls (my current lunch show). I’ll also be sharing ideas for gathering over here on the blog, my new YouTube channel that’s launching this fall, and I’m bringing back the podcast this fall!
It’s an exciting new season that reminds me of all the things I love. Happy Fall Y’all!
